The solution of printer planing
Most 3D printers use a pinion to grip the wire with another bearing to make the gear grasp the wire. The driving gear has sharp teeth, which can bite into the wire, and then rely on the rotation direction of the gear to push the wire forward and backward. If the wire cannot be moved, but the gear continues to rotate, the gear may scrape part of the plastic from the wire, so that the gear has no place to hold the wire. Many people call this "planing". Because too much plastic has been planed off, resulting in abnormal extrusion function. If this happens to your printer, you will usually see a lot of plastic pieces scattered on the ground. You can also see that the extruder is rotating, but the wire is not pushed into the extruder. In the following we will introduce the simplest way to solve this problem.
Increase printing temperature
If you have been having problems with planing, try increasing the temperature of the nozzle by 5 to 10 degrees to make it easier for the plastic to extrude. You can change the printing temperature to set it. There is a printing temperature in the basic. When slicing, you can set it again and print the slice. Plastics are always easier to extrude at high temperatures, so this is a very useful setting to adjust.
The printing speed is too fast
After increasing the temperature, if you still encounter the problem of planing, the next thing you need to do is to reduce the printing speed. By doing so, the motor of the extruder does not have to rotate at that high speed, because the wire takes longer to extrude. Reducing the motor speed of extruder is helpful to avoid the problem of planing. For example, if you used to print at 3600 mm / min (60 mm / s), try reducing this value by one third to see if the problem of planing disappears.
Check the nozzle for blockage
After lowering the temperature and printing speed, if you still have the problem of planing, the nozzle may be blocked. Then you need to clean the nozzle. First of all, if the blockage is not serious, the consumables will come out intermittently. Then you raise the printing temperature to 230 degrees, pass the nozzle several times with a small needle, and then manually feed the material out to see if it can discharge normally. If it is normal, it is OK. If it is not, you can replace it with a new nozzle, Then clean the inside of the pipe and check whether the discharge pipe is normal. Sometimes it is necessary to replace it with a new one.
Carbonization of Teflon tube in throat
There is a small section of Teflon tube in the throat of the machine. The Teflon tube is resistant to high temperature. However, when working in high temperature environment for a long time, the Teflon tube will be carbonized gradually, resulting in the narrowing of the originally small Teflon tube channel, and then the subsequent extrusion is not smooth, resulting in insufficient discharge and material sticking. To draw out the Teflon tube in the heating state, if there is carbonization, you can cut a section of the same length to replace it, and then install it. |
